Midnight. We arrived at the location and went inside. The team were told only that we had an investigation they did not know what the place was or in what town only myself Mark had any knowledge of the place.

00:15am. Main Bar and Pool Room:
The team waited in the main bar area whilst Mark went for a look around with a Pam to be shown all the rooms and to be told were the staff and guests have had their experiences. The team entered the pool table area and set up some trigger objects as they had all felt something may get moved in that area. When I rejoined the team they had explained to me what they had done and we then decided to stay in the area for a while Angie said there was a man in the room but could not get any information regarding him. Angie said she kept getting an image of a woman who was stood in a room that looked like it had pink walls, she was not sure what room it was or were, she said we may get more on this throughout the night.

00:45am. Basement / Cellar:
We went down the stairs and to the right was a large room (we will call Room A) then down the corridor is a room to the right (Room B) were all the beer pumps are then another room to the left of that (Room C) facing it is the old coldroom storage (Room D) then coming back to the stairs is a small room to the rear of the building (Room E).
Angie was immediately drawn to room C were she entered and went to the far left corner Tracey, Steph, Chris S and Mark also entered Angie gave her camera to Mark and asked him to take a photograph of where she was stood, Mark switched on the camera and tried to take a photo and the camera switched off, Angie said there was someone to her left a small child feels like a boy, as she moves away she says she can hear him humming and mimics the humming, Alan who now wanders down from Room A says to Mark I get an image of a stable boy in this area but no name, Tracey turns to Angie and says Charlie (unable to trace this name as yet) she feels this is the boys name they all agree his size resembles that of a 6 or 7 year old boy.
We all headed back down to Room A, as we did Angie goes to switch off the light, as she does Mark says “theres a light switch there” Angie replies “here” Mark "yes" Angie "I daren't touch it it looks dodgy" Tracey says “Do you want your hair to stick up” and giggles then we hear a little voice that says “YES” (CLICK HERE TO HEAR EVP)
We went into Room A and stayed there for a while, Angie, Tracey, Jazz and Steph all say they felt on different occasions that someone had touched their head, they described what they said felt like a hand being placed on their heads, I asked them was it in this room they all said no and told me they had all felt it in the corridor outside Room B. Whilst we were still in Room A the team stood in a circle listening for any sounds when Angie said someone brushed passed her Dave looked to his left as he saw a small figure go passed him and Alan pointed in the same direction as he saw something move pretty fast.
We then went into Room B no one felt anything in here except Angie who got the name James and a Charles one was a barman (The only one I can find so far is Charles Smith barman in the 1901 census). The reason I brought everyone into this room was because they had felt a hand on their heads outside this room but one member of staff who works here has said this is what she feels when she comes to the basement but only after she has entered Room B.
After we left Room B and went back to Room C Tracey saw a figure stood in the doorway she said it was a woman wearing Victorian style clothing the dress was corseted and gets the name Charlotte, Angie says she also sensed a lady call Mary 1878 and William, (the 1881 census shows A William and Mary Maughan as owners). Jazz told me he got the name Sarah.
(So far I have found two Sarah's one a Hotel Keeper the other a General Servant both in the 1901 census).

01:30am. Dining Room:
We entered the dining room, again this was a room where people have witnessed a woman so I was keen to see what the team come up with. Angie says as we enter I feel a woman has been seen here she goes to the main door and says this is her area but she is seen down the other end pointing to the area where a woman has been seen (this is where the landlady shown me the woman has been seen but no one has a name for her) Angie says her name is Peggy a very small lady and slim she says it is a residual energy she is not an active spirit. She says the woman smoked and feels this lady was more from the 1970's and was a well loved character, she then turns her head towards the kitchen and says there is someone in that area too but does not know if it is a man or woman, the landlady told me the chef has had experiences in there, having a feeling someone is present but cannot tell if it is a man or woman. We went to the kitchen but could not get anything in there and then Angie was drawn to a doorway at the back this led to the barn what was once the stables, as we entered Angie says someone was found here and she looks up at the beams and says yes! The landlady told me that when she first took over 20 years ago she was a told a story of a man who hung himself in here but she did not know how true the story was. Just then Alan entered the room and looked up at the beams and says he gets an image of someone dangling. Angie and Alan have come up with a name but we are withholding it out of respect.

02:30am. We stooped for a break:

02:50am. Attic:
As we got to the top of the stairs we looked along the corridor there were three bedrooms to the left one at the very end of the corridor and two rooms to the right, (we will number the rooms 1-6 starting at the first room on the left) at the top of the stairs we stood outside the first room Angie and Tracey entered the room as they entered Angie says she gets the name Millie, Alan was stood outside the room and got the name Geoffrey or Jeffrey. Tracey noticed that this room was painted like a pinkish colour so this could have been the room Angie mentioned on arrival when she said she wanted to go to a pink room as there was a woman in there. Angie also said she gets a lady called Sarah (Again I have found two Sarah's one was a servant and we are stood in the servants quarters) who wanders in and out of this room, she said she could sense another two women who would be seen if this area was used more but they were both residual and they would be seen more than the Millie and Sarah.
Jazz entered room 6 and took some photographs whilst he did Angie still in room 1 said she could feel that a lady gave birth in here, as she said that Alan stood in the corridor and Jazz in room 6 both said they heard what sounded like a babies cry.
We wandered around the different rooms for a while but nothing else came up in any of the other rooms, as we were about to walk back to room 1 Mark turned to Alan and as he did he thought he saw someone walk directly behind Alan into room 3 (I was looking forward at this time and it was not seen from the corner of the eye), He turned back towards room1 to see where the others were and quickly done a head count realizing only Alan was behind him he went into room 3 to look around but no one was there, so we walked back towards room 1 Alan said he imaged a dead body being carried downstairs but didn't get anything else with that, Tracey felt as though she was being watched the whole time by someone at the top of the stairs but could not get any feeling as to whether it was a male or female. Alan also took EMF readings in each room and the corridor but there were none.

03:20am. Floor 1:
We left the Attic and came down to the first floor, Mark took the team into one of the bedrooms, this room Mark was told by the Landlady was were she had had her only experience, despite living here for 20years. Outside the room Two guests independently and on seperate occasions witnessed a small boy in the corridor towards the stairs to the attic, that area now open was were the stairs had once continued all the way down to the basement. No one in the team picked up on anything as we passed it.
We entered the bedroom and I had the team sit for a while to see if anyone could sense anything, after five minutes of sitting Jazz got up and walked into the bathroom, Angie said to me she felt a man had died in this room pointing to her chest so no one else could see her she whispered Heart attack, this was just in case any of the team picked up on the same thing, she said she could see the mans clothes neatly laid out on the bed as if to get ready for the day, next to the clothes was a razor the cutthroat type. Alan said he could feel palpitations and asked Angie was it his heart, Jazz come out of the Bathroom holding his chest and agreed on the same. Alan once again took EMF readings but we recorded none. Angie felt there was no more to come from this room so we left.

03:35am. Floor1:
We went to the end of the corridor and entered the large room used mainly for storage, we walked around the room to see if anyone could sense anything, the landlady had not told me of any experiences she knew about in this room, but I took the team in to see what they said, It is like a suggestion to them that I have been told something and that is why I lead them in there, but all the team said they felt nothing. We left after ten minutes in there.

03:45am. Ground Floor Main Bar:
We entered the main bar area to finish the investigation, we stayed in here until 04:30am, the whole time we was in this room no one picked up on anything at all, so we decided to call it a night.

04:30am. Investigation ended.

FINAL THOUGHT: All the team felt it was a worthy investigation and worth a revisit the team seemed to pick up on what the landlady had told me which I felt was very interesting.
