BACK TO HOMEPAGE
BACK TO INVESTIGATIONS
After such a good night on our previous investigation a few months ago, we all decided it would be nice to go back for a follow up invest. Present from AGH were Angie, Mark, Jazz, Tracey, Mike and Andy along with Pam our historian, we were also joined by landlady Lauren and her husband Tom.
01:00hrs The investigation started at 1am by the time everyone had gone and
it the pub had been tidied up. Due to the amount of audible activity last
time and how many times team members saw things we spent the first hour just
setting cameras and voice recorders up in every possible position there was.
02.00hrs We then
sat for an half hour watching and observing different areas of the pub, the
team had set themselves up in good positions so all areas where visible to
at least two members of the team. Angie tells us Elizabeth is present again,
and then says this pub had a different name, Pam tells us the pub was once
called the Queens Head but then the street was not called Eastborough but
was part of Merchants row a few hundred yards up the road.
02:30hrs Things
were about to finally start, Andy and Mike who where situated nearest the
toilets heard footsteps going towards the female toilet. Pam who was sat adjacent
to the stairs that led there also heard the footsteps. They all said the sounds
were very clear to them and not faint. At the same time Angie commented that
little Tom was around. (Tom was a little boy we discovered on the previous
investigation, When Angie saw him last time she described him as having coal
on his face as he was a chimney sweep). Within seconds Andy saw a small figure
head up the next flight of stairs from the toilets to the owners flat. Angie
asked Lauren has anyone ever experienced anything in the ladies toilet as
she saw a figure move past the window in the door, Lauren says yes and a good
few times too. So Angie headed in there to see if she could pick up on anything
in there, Mark and Jazz both followed her. Whilst in there she became aware
of a presence stood near the sink but was unable to get anymore with this,
Mark went and stood by the sink to see if he could feel the presence but said
he did not. Angie upon leaving the toilets saw something go down the stairs
from the pool table area to the main bar, as she said this Pam also said she
saw something go in that direction. She also caught a quick glimpse of someone
by the males toilets as she turned to us to tell us what she seen, Andy went
to the corridor to take some photos but nothing has appeared on them.
We all went and stood by the pool table and Angie said there was a man present
called Les and he just wanted everyone to know he does not like the changes
and preferred it when the door was in the corner where the stage is now. We
were then told by Tom that the door was originally where the stage is and
not in the opposite corner as it is now. He walked off to where the original
door was and left. Pam saw an outline of a figure moving in that direction
too. It was if he left through the original door as some sort of confirmation
that that was where the door was.
03.00hrs. Andy, Mike and Jazz all went down to the cellar curious as to if
they may feel what we got there last time. When they were down there both
Angie and Pam could hear a little boys voice coming from near the stage area.
Mark, Angie and Tracey all went over to the stage area as they did all three
heard a voice but no one could make out what was said. On watching the footage
a voice can be heard calling out what sounds like Tom, we are not sure if
it was little Tom telling us his name or if it was someone calling to the
landlord who is also named Tom!. CLICK HERE TO LISTEN
Moments later Angie picks up on a Bill and a Bob both regulars who come in
and leave just as quick, then Brian enters and Angie mentions a boat called
the Rosalyn or Rosalin that they he worked on. The landlord Tom tells us there
was a boat by that name in the town but was scrapped about 35years ago, Angie
not being from around here originally would not have known that. She then
surprises us by saying whilst she said the name of the boat she heard a mans
voice say to hear I thought you was going to say Rosita she was a Landlady
you know. On checking the census for the pub we found that that is true, one
former Landlady was called Rosita.
For the remaining period not much happened other than sporadic sightings around
the pub, and at 04:00hrs we decided to call it a night.
04.00hrs. The investigation came to an end.
Final Thought: The Britannia was a very interesting place, we did not have much time to investigate but we were glad we went back for a follow up, which we believe was worthwhile.
