The Shambles Bar and Restaurant in Whitby also below the bar is an indoor market,

Present from AGH were Angie, Mark, Wayne, Tracey and Kev also present were the staff from the restaurant Lucy, James, Rachel, Hannah, Laura, Chris, Hellen, and Andrew and shop owner Isis.

We arrived at 23:00hrs Angie had sensed a lady in the snooker room, a man who walked in the cellar area, she also saw a man walk through carrying a cloth sack, she sensed he worked when it was a mill which was confirmed,

23:30hrs We started to set up the equipment, we started setting up in the cellar, with a locked off camcorder, temp' was 19.5°c. then at 23:49hrs we set up C.C.T.V recording on a VHS near the kitchen area. Then at midnight we set up some trigger objects in the snooker room, we placed a cross on a piece of paper and drew around it, 3 dice on a piece of paper and drawn around, and a piece of paper with a pen, all witnessed by James and Hannah, as we left the room we placed an alarm on the inside of the door.

0:15hrs We were in the bar area whilst Angie gave a talk on Glass divination and Table tipping.

0:34hrs Glass divination in the bar area sat at the table were Kev,Andrew, Lucy and Rachel, Angie senses an old man called Bill, a young girl called Sally, and a lady called Bridget, and a young boy called Tom (Residual), however none are wanting to communicate, Bill and Sally seem to be observing us, However two spirits came through who did want to communicate, these were people the staff knew, and out of respect we will not place the names or how things progressed.

01:20hrs stopped for a break. Wayne had sensed a man standing watching us roughly about 70-75yrs of age but not communicative.

02:00hrs We entered the cellar area and had a look around, nothing happened here so we went back upstairs, we set up beam barrier alarms as Angie senses a man in here and a shadow has been witnessed here.

02:20hrs we checked the trigger objects but none had moved, whilst in the bar area a knocking sound was heard, Kev and Wayne went towards the kitchen and saw a shadow under the door, they went into the room to investigate but nothing was there.

02:30hrs we all had a look around the kitchen and spent a little time in there, it was in here that Angie sensed a man who had been making his presence felt pretty strongly, he was a small but stocky man, he seemed to be angered about something and Angie felt a seance in the staff room next to the kitchen would help as he was struggling to communicate.

02:40hrs we decided to go to the staff room and set up for a seance.

02:50hrs we decided to try glass divination, What we do is place a finger each on the glass as the medium gets information we ask spirit questions that have a yes or no answer, if the answer is yes we ask the glass be moved, if the answer is no the glass remain still, during the glass divination we all heard banging sounds and footsteps, on the glass was Angie, Tracey, Lucy and Isis.

Angie senses he's confused by our questions, he wants to communicate with us but he's not happy with us being in this room, as something bad had happened to him, Angie proceeded to tell us he had died in a fire, in a building previous to this one and the room we were now in, would have once been the roof, he had climbed onto the roof through a skylight (type of roof window) to escape the fire but had fell to his death..

The reason for this question was, a couple of years ago there had been another fire, during which the fire crew responding thought they had heard someone scream and had to break in through a window to conduct a search only to find no one was in the building!

04:15hrs We continued with the seance. The overall outcome was that Mary had died previously during childbirth, He died during the fire, he and a lady had climbed onto the roof to seek safety, he tries to save the woman by leaning over her but they both fell of the roof and died, he now in spirit watches over the women there today, and feels he has to keep them away from that area to protect them from being hurt.

Final thought: The investigation was a very interesting one, we felt there was mainly Residual spirit there, and the man at the end was the most prominent spirit, who just wanted to watch over people. We would like to say thank you to the staff or a great night and their hospitality.
