We have been asked by the owners not to reveal the name or location, although they are happy for the investigation report to be placed on the site. Any names that we get we place in the report but withhold surnames to help keep the location secret.
Present from AGH were Angie, Mark, Becky, Wayne, Char and Kev we were joined by Tracey, Angela, Jim, Kaye, Tina, Emily and Faye,
We arrived at midnight and we went to the main bar area and sat with the staff (we will call this the base room) Angie senses a man in the room with a dog it appears to be a sheepdog, whilst Angie is talking Mark and Wayne went to another room (room 2) as Angie had saw a man (Bill) in there as she passed, They set up Cam 2 and took EMF (Sapphire) and temp' readings which were 23.5°c and zero readings on the EMF, Wayne could see the man sat in the corner which he described as follows, He was sat on a high backed chair, wearing a black high collared rough material coat with the collar up around his neck. His name is William but prefers Bill and a surname H! is given but we have to withhold it to keep location secret.
Back in the Base room, Angie senses some more, she says there is a little girl upstairs called Emily S! of 1774 as a date she has a physical disability, Angie senses polio and this girl is only in visitation due to memories, Mark and Wayne continued to take EMF and temp' readings of 24.0°c zero on EMF, Angie also felt there was once stables here the owners confirm the cottage next door were once stables for this pub, there was also a drowning nearby a little boy called Timothy S! he was 7yrs old and his body was brought in here, The pub was once used as a courthouse and a man was tried and hung nearby, again a name was given but we have to withhold, A local policeman still comes in visitation his name is Ted he still wears his long black Mac, he has dark hair and a mustache he was the local bobby (policeman) in the 1950's she feels he died back end of the 1960's, Ted was the local bobby here then and died late 1960's, there is also a man who she describes as a Seth Armstrong lookalike who sits at the bar she feels when he is present a mist appears and if you are sat there you would feel like someone brushes passed by you, there should also be a strong cigar like smell when he is there. The owners confirm these. Then she asks did a man have a heartattack here, as she is given this for confirmation purposes only the information is confirmed. Angie then senses a lady who lived here by the name of Rose H! she's telling her she hid documents in a hole in the wall she died of a stroke, the hole is now used to house the safe, Angie then asks does anyone feel shiver sensations in a particular spot in the pub yes and if she goes behind the bar and puts something down it will be moved yes do you have a problem with a clock in the living quarters losing time yes she also feels someone walks around upstairs Becky and Char both heard footsteps above us but the owners tell us no one is upstairs. She then asks has anyone ever seen a reflection in the mirror behind the bar some of the staff confirm this. She also senses that one time a small fire took place upstairs when a log rolled of the fire but this happened a long time ago. And that contraband tobacco and gin was often sold in here. There is also a lady in another room (room 3 for report purposes) she sits in corner.
01:00am Angie and some of the staff went in the cellar were she saw a young boy in a bakers style hat and three quarter trousers and white shirt stood by the cooler she felt 1800's with this lad but he faded out, she felt this was in the residual. She also sensed a man who messes with the pipes the staff do get problems with the pipes Becky sensed a name for young boy Tom. During which Wayne received more information for Bill in Room 2 he was waiting for his tobacco which he bought contraband from a young by who acted on behalf of the smugglers he felt the young boy was caught by the authorities but he kept hush as to were it come from.
01:15am - 01:30am short break
01:30am We went to another room (room 3) no readings on EMF and Temp' was 23.0°c, Wayne sensed a woman sat in the corner who had some kind of problem with her right eye and had white hair (same corner Angie had sensed the woman, it's important however to note Wayne was not present when Angie had said this earlier), Becky who was stood in another part of the room felt someone touch her face and at the exact same time Wayne saw a shadow reflection on the wall pass right by Becky. Angie asks the staff have they seen anyone there, the staff say no but they do feel as if someone is sat there staring at them, Angie says she wants to go upstairs and return here later.
01:45am We went upstairs to one of the bedrooms (room 4) Angie sensed someone in the corner of the room she also seen a cat and said the owners would hear the cat scratching and they said yes they do, she also sensed the child running in here (this would be Emily mentioned earlier) Both Angie and Becky felt this room was once used as a child's playroom, they both also felt the stairs had been moved, (the stairs were not originally in this position) Angie also felt that the roof was originally thatched and that a monk once passed through here she got the name Bartholomew and heard a voice as she gave this and at the same time Kev saw a shadow at the bottom of the stairs, when he went to look there was no one there.
02:00am We went to the living area, as we sat in there in the dark, Wayne could see a little boy on the landing he sensed the name Tom, he also gets a metallic type taste in his mouth. Angie senses a woman sat on the arm of the couch (staff do feel as if they are being watched in here) She also says this is the room that had the small fire, Angie then gets a family of twelve once lived here she gives the family surname, the lady in the room on the couch was a kind of nanny to the children Catherine, there was also a man who used to come and collect rent here a name is given of J M, she also senses a lady called Rose she stands near the window and feels that people may have seen her when passing by outside. Everyone in the room was feeling uncomfortable and edgy except Mark who said he thought the room was nice.
02:30am - 03:00am another break.
03:00am We went into the kitchen we did not see anything or sense anything although staff have felt as if someone has walked out of the kitchen and towards the bar area, Angie had mentioned this as we entered the pub, as we came in through the kitchen area when we first arrived.
03:18am We went back to Room 3 as Angie felt we would sense more here now. We decided the team members would take turns sitting in the corner were the ladies presence was the most strongest to see if anyone could pick anything up, Char went first she reported that she could feel a cold breeze near the base of her back and felt a heaviness in the front of her head she held the EMF but got no readings on it, Wayne went next he started off feeling very warm but also reported a cold spot at the base of his back, as he said that both Angie and Becky said they could see the old lady behind him he also sensed a man there, Mark checked for any cold spots but could not find one, Kev went next whilst he said it felt cooler than any other part of the room he did not feel a cold spot, Becky tried next she said that she could feel like facial hair to the right side of her face but felt a woman to her left, she also felt as if at one time it was bench type of seating there and not chairs as it is now, Angie also tried she too felt that the woman was present but not giving a name as yet she felt there was once a man who sat here with the lady and that a bench was there then. Whilst doing this some in the room could hear animal type sounds from the other room. They all sat there for 10 minutes each except Kev who only sat there for 5 minutes due to him feeling nothing.
04:00am We decided to do some glass divination in room 3 Becky, Tracey, Kaye and Angela sat at the table, (we ask the spirit questions, if the answer is yes they move the glass if the answer is no they leave the glass still, were you see yes that means the glass moved) Angie asks the questions. But tells us the spirits here are weak and might not be able to communicate for long.
Cath steps back as Rose comes in
He backs off but then we are shown a trophy in his dads name it is a darts trophy which is kept at the pub, and Char senses George was a treasurer, the staff checked the old book and sure enough he was.
Char and Jim replace Tracey and Angela at the table to see if they could get any responses. Wayne senses Bill has come forward and asks,
Molly backed off but we had established this was the old lady from the corner of the room, the investigation come to an end at 5am.
FINAL THOUGHT: The pub seemed to have a lot of spirits who like to visit, but we wouldn't say it was always active but just from time to time, the staff were all friendly and made us feel welcome.
