PRESENT FOR THE INVESTIGATION FROM AGH WERE ANGIE, MARK, TRACEY AND JAZZ, WE WERE JOINED BY JAY FROM ENGLISH HERITAGE AND JAMIE WHO WAS DOING THE SOUND RECORDINGS FOR THE PODCAST WE WERE ALSO JOINED BY MEMBERS OF THE CASTLE STAFF.
We arrived at half past nine in the evening for a briefing and met the staff, we were then invited to have a look around the Master Gunners House before the investigation started, as we looked around we started on the top floor (second floor) straight away Angie sensed one of the rooms which was the staff room was an active area she sensed a woman present but had no info as we walked out of the room Tracey said she heard a woman's voice but it was unclear as to what she said, Angie tells me as we walk down the stairs that she feels they are a very active area and suggests camcorders on tripods in this area, we went to the first floor were Angie senses the woman is also active and wanders through the rooms she says she rushes around the house very fast. The staff tell me that they feel there is a woman who wanders these areas and they feel the stairs are the most active followed by the staff room.
22:15pm We went outside to do our investigation and went into the keep, once in the keep Angie immediately goes to a small room as she senses a man is in there she feels he is guarding this room for some reason but doesn't get anymore with this yet, we continued to wander around the keep Angie says she feels as if someone was poisoned here once but doesn't know who. Tracey felt as if someone wanted to push her in the back, Angie turns to Jay and says she gets the name Richard to do with the man in the small room she feels he is watching us now, he keeps popping his head out to look at us.
Jay asks us to walk over to another area in the grounds known as the viewing platform. Once at the platform we stood and observed for a while then Mark and Tracey both looked toward the Keep and both thought they saw a figure move in one of the upper windows to which there is no floor, we zoomed in using the camcorder but could not see anything. We then went for a walk back towards the Keep, whilst doing so Angie senses a settlement was here on the grassed area then turns her head towards the Keep and says she can hear a woman's screams coming from below the Keep, she feels the woman is a prisoner of some kind she just keeps hearing the woman's screams and nothing else just yet.
23:00pm Mark and Jazz headed off back to the keep whilst Angie, Tracey, Jay and Jamie along with a member of staff headed toward the gatehouse. Jazz walked into the room were Angie had sensed the man Richard as he entered he could smell body odour Mark was at the other end of the keep as he thought he had seen a shadow move near a large window. Then they set up an ION detector and EMF meter along with a voice recorder in the small room, Angie and the others had reached the gatehouse where Angie was stood in one of the towers she felt as though a man was above her on another floor, on closer inspection there was remnants of where an upper floor was in the tower. As nothing was happening in the Keep Mark and Jazz went to meet up with the others as we rejoined we all agreed to move on to another area, as we walked back towards the keep from the gatehouse along what is known as the causeway, Angie points to the wall on the causeway and says she feels there was some kind of settlement outside the castle she feels peasants lived out there too, as we arrived back to near the Keep but on the grassed area Angie talked again about lots of people being out here there are small buildings she says and people worked out here. But then Angie is distracted again by the woman's screams the woman she had heard earlier she says she is below the Keep in a room, Angie feels the woman's hands were bound behind her back and a rope was tied around her neck and she was being dragged around by it as if she was being made an example of, Angie did not know why she was being made an example of, We walked over to the side of the Keep were there was a low wall as we looked over it we could see there was a big drop into what looked like a room, the staff explain to us that this room was the dungeon at the castle. They also pointed towards a window which was part of the chapel it was the same window Mark and Tracey had earlier seen a figure move when we stood at the viewing platform.
We started to walk towards were the well was Angie talks about sensing Romans who once were on this ground and she feels it more strongly towards were the toilet blocks are, it is believed a roman signal station was near to there, she also sensed soldiers once were here based in the Castle grounds she feels the area is very busy but says she gets this in the residual, Angie then asks the staff can they take her to the house! she wants to go by the house, the staff took us across the grassed area to were there were some steps leading down along the side of the perimeter wall, as we are walking down there are remains of rooms but Angie wants to go the house once there we are told by staff that the house was called King Johns Chamber Angie senses a name of Gerrard Hartley he was an important man well to do and had a strong Yorkshire accent he had a wife Mary who worked here as part of the household. There is also a young man 18 years old called Jim Farrow who died whilst working here Angie says she can hear an airplane then a loud bang this was due to the war she said he died in the blast, the staff tell us that the Castle grounds were bombed during the war, she also says that Jim was very happy during his time here. Mark asks Jazz to do a sweep in the area with the EMF and Ion Detector as he does Mark could see a figure in front of Jazz through the viewfinder but on watching the footage there is nothing there. Angie also picks up on a Margaret in the area who was an officers wife she lived close by in Brompton on a farm. Tracey then gets a name of George describes him as being dressed in style of clothing similar to that of King Henry but slightly different. We started to move away and Angie gets another name of Henry Morley he was she feels in regards to something to do with the war, she feels he may be a writer or something, now during the war an there was a war artist called Henry Morley but we cannot verify if he ever visited here.
We headed to the perimeter wall to continue walking around as we passed one room off the perimeter wall Angie said she could smell gun powder it turned out the room was used as a gun powder room, then we walked down some steps and entered a bigger room Jazz and Tracey both said they felt uncomfortable entering this room they feel like they are not welcome, Angie asks them is it as though you feel like pacing up and down as this is what Angie feels like doing, they both say yes, as Angie turns to another doorway she sees someone pass quickly behind one of the Castle staff who was stood there, Tracey had also seen the same thing they both say they could not make out what or who as the figure passed by so quickly, we went through the doorway and walked along a path to see if we could see anything, as we started to turn a corner the staff tell me that they all feel very uncomfortable whenever they pass this area day or night as it feels as if they are always being watched, Angie who was ahead of us turns and says she gets a replay of men falling down lots of men around here and hears a bomb land and people falling down, the area was used by the army and as said before the Castle was bombed, However Angie feels that the feeling staff are getting from this corner is because there is a woman present who had threw herself off the wall Angie says she feels that some of the soldiers who were based here would have witnessed this often, Angie describes the woman as wearing a wedding dress and feels she threw herself off the wall as she was depressed after losing her child, there is two local stories regarding this one that a woman threw her child of the wall and the other a woman in a white dress throws herself off the wall, now I have had an Email two years prior to this that a couple man and woman on holiday had walked on the outside of the perimeter wall one night and saw a lady in a white wedding dress walk towards them and then disappear in front of their eyes in their Email they had described the area were they saw the figure very well and it would be exactly on the opposite side of the wall were we were stood.
0:50am Then we headed back towards the Master Gunners House, we went to the top floor into a small room Angie senses a woman who wanders the house, she feels there are three beds in this room they were for kids , she feels the woman may have been a housemaid or kitchen worker or something like that Tracey feels the same and Jazz gets an image of a pinny in his head. Angie suggests doing glass divination, she explains to Jay and Jamie about glass divination and the importance of protection prayers. Whilst she does this Mark is on the first floor setting up motion sensors and beam barriers in the rooms, at the start of the glass divination Mark rejoins the group, at the table are Jay, Jamie, Jazz and a member of the staff, Tracey is on camcorder Angie tries to draw in spirit Mark has the EMF. Just as we start Tracey hears a kiddies giggle behind her. Angie asks spirit to move the glass she gets the information Mary Anne Wilson aged about 74years when passed possibly in the 50's she also gets a boys name of Thomas Egerton and his sister Sarah then we hear footsteps Jamie says he can hear them too through his headphones,Angie feels they are coming from the room below, then as Angie looks towards Tracey she could see a man behind her and gets the name John, Tracey asks is his middle name Henry, Angie says she does not know, The member of staff says he had recently spoken to an elderly gentleman who told him he came here when he was little to play with the kids that lived here then and that was in the 1940's. Jazz got the name Matthew the group tried a few times to get some kind of communication going but nothing happened so we moved down to the first floor.
01:23am As we prepared to get the room ready the team are hearing different noises, they try glass divination again in this room at the table are Tracey, Jamie, Jay and member of staff Jazz is on camcorder, Mark observes with EMF and Angie tries to draw in spirit again. Unfortunately nothing else happened.
At 02:00am we called it a night..
