BACK TO HOMEPAGEBACK TO INVESTIGATIONSPHOTOS FROM INVESTIGATION

Present for the Investigation from AGH were, Angie, Mark, Tracey, Jazz and Steph.

We arrived at 19:45 hrs, and unloaded the equipment. As this was our second visit (first visit was in 2008) we decided to concentrate on a few rooms where we had a good response on the previous visit; The Attic, Room C, The Ballroom, and Two rooms (H and K) we did'nt get much time in during our last visit. These two rooms, Angie had said on the last visit had more to offer on a different night. Well this was a different night, so I intended to spend some time in there. Before we started the investigation we set up some cameras in isolated areas, the first one we placed in the attic looking through the doorways of each room. Chris S and Tracey had seen a figure up here on our last visit, so I felt this may prove worthwhile, we also placed a touch activated toy in there. We also set up a camera in room C, again on the last visit we knew this room was one of the areas Josh and Sally visited. We then placed a camera in the corridor to rooms H to K.

20:10hrs: We went to room C. Angie instantly senses both Josh and Sally, but comments the other little girl is not there. (Emily who Angie had described as having long blonde hair, but it is not a bright blonde, on our last visit). We noticed a toy was placed in the room, that the owner had left for the children. Angie gets a clear look through the door to the corridor and says Charlotte is present again. This was another picked up on from our last visit. Angie says she won’t come in and is looking tearful, then she walks away out of Angie’s view. As we stood in the room I noticed both Angie and Jazz are holding their heads to one side, when Angie says she can hear white noise type of sound, Jazz looks up and says that is exactly what he is hearing, the rest of us did'nt’t hear a thing. Angie looks around again and says Josh has a limp, and he likes this room the best. The owner spoke to me alone on arrival and mentioned they had experienced Josh themselves in this room.

We then went into the next room, and Angie again is aware of Mary and a Joseph, she feels they were here around the time of William's period in charge. (Last visit Angie had said she felt a lot of debt, we found that William Arton during the 1800's was in court in Leeds for Bankruptcy). We heard some noise coming from the other corridor to rooms H to K, so made our way down there. Angie saw a man enter room K, I was aware this had been witnessed several times before by others.

As we walked down the corridor Angie, Tracey and Jazz all get a feeling of tormented minds. As we pass a door to our left, Mark opens it to reveal the crawlspace above the Ballroom. Where the leaded glass window can be seen. Jazz looks in and feels weird and apprehensive. We then went into room K, Angie placed her hands over her ears and says, “lot’s of babies, there are lots of cries”. Jazz comments it feels like a hospital in this room but not so medical with lots of bodies, Tracey says she feels sadness and death, Angie points out she feels people who died from the abortions were placed in here. (This has been mentioned before by others, and many believe this room was used to house the bodies of women who died in the abortion clinic).

Mark comments he likes the room, but there is a strange feeling to it, no one else is happy being in there and want to leave. Angie tells us a man of the cloth has joined us, he is standing in the doorway, and then he walks off. Angie and Tracey follow him as he moves into another room down the corridor. The others soon follow, but nothing can be found, so we left the room and started walking down the corridor, suddenly Angie says “stop that”, as she does both Tracey and Jazz comment “what was that”, as they both heard a strange hissing type of noise, Angie explains that was what she heard too, which was why she said stop that, she goes on to explain the noise was right in her ear, and it sounded as though it was made by a person. We stood for several minutes awaiting something further, but nothing happened.  Mark decided to take the team into room H. As we entered Tracey says she feels people have been trapped in here, and Angie gets a pain in the back of her head. Mark held the door open as there was a very strange smell in there, plus it is rumored this door jams shut locking people in. As everyone left Mark stayed in and shut the door to see if it did jam shut. The latch on the door did'nt even meet up with the door frame, so there is no reason for the door to jam. Mark stayed in the room for ten minutes alone, then tried the door which opened with ease. Although it was catching a bit at the top, this gave us the conclusion that if it was winter time, and the door warped slightly it could jam shut.  As Mark left the room to discuss it with the rest of the team, we where stood by the entrance of this corridor next to the other corridor leading back to room C, when we all heard what sounded like a cough, we went through quickly, each checking the rooms along this corridor, but there was no one around at all. So we made our way back towards the other rooms we had just left, when Angie sees someone stood by room K again, Mark went down to check and saw nothing, as he turned to leave the corridor he hears the hissing sound and looks around, finding nothing he made his way back down the corridor to the others, who are stood by the entrance. It felt as though someone was stood behind him, slightly to the right, but makes no comment, when Jazz who is holding the walkabout cam, comments “Mark you really need to check the tape, I think someone was behind you, just to your right hand side”.

20:45hrs: Angie and Mark went to the Ballroom to collect some equipment, whilst the others went on a toilet break. As we stood collecting some more equipment the door directly outside the ballroom opened and closed, we looked at it and there was no one there, the others arrived back at least five minutes later. We could hear too much noise from outside plus the music from the pub, so decided now was not a good time to stay in this room and all agreed to stay upstairs for a bit longer.

21:00hrs: We decided to bring the activated toy down from the attic and try it in room C, we positioned the camcorder near to the door, so if anyone did enter the camera would detect them, the camera was also pointing directly at the toy. We all then made our way to the attic rooms again. Once in there Tracey and Steph stood in the doorway from room 2 to room 3, whilst Mark reset the camera in room 2, Angie and Jazz stood in room 1 of the attic taking photographs. Suddenly Tracey and Steph moved away from the door as they felt as if someone was stood directly behind them, Mark went and stood in the doorway with his back turned to room 3, just to see if he could feel the same. Mark said it did feel as though someone was behind him as Angie says a black object is floating behind him, and quickly takes a series of photos to try to capture it. The feelings soon dissipated and the team stay in the area for anything else to happen. After a short while Angie feels the spirit Sarah has returned, (again Sarah was someone who was picked up on our previous visit). Angie calls out for Sarah to make some sort of response for us. We all moved into room 3 and stood for a bit calling out for Sarah or anyone else who may be present, but we did not get any kind of response.
Angie comments she can sense someone by the entrance to the attic in room 1, so we all moved into that area, Angie closes the door, but not fully, this is to allow whoever it is to push the door and enter the room. Then Angie says there is two of them, one is John again and the other is called Tommy. Again Angie asks them to open the door and come into the room, just then we could all hear what sounded like muffled voices, but once again and very sadly the cameras failed to record this. Mark went and stood by the door as Angie says they have left, and now a woman is nearby looking for someone. Mark then hears someone say, (from the other side of the door) in a whisper “Joe”. He opens the door believing someone is outside, there is no one there and Mark makes his way down the stairs to check the next level, again there is no sign of anyone. Things soon went very quiet and we stayed a little longer, but nothing happened, so we decided to have a break.

22:00hrs: We went to the first floor and sat down by room G for a short break. As we all sat and discussed how we felt things had been going, we heard from Room C the toy being activated. From room G we can clearly observe the corridor to room C. It would have been impossible for anyone to get in there, as they would have had to pass us outside room G to reach this room. We waited five minutes to see if it went off again, but nothing, so we decided to check the room to make sure no one had gone in there before we arrived. Once in the room we could see the room was empty. (Please see photo page at the bottom to watch a short video clip of the toy being activated).

22:30hrs: We went back to the corridor for rooms H to K. Mark was determined to spend some more time in this area, so we went into room K. After spending a few minutes soaking up the atmosphere, Mark called out for a response, Angie mentions she can sense the man of cloth again, and tries in vain to get more information on him, sadly she cannot, other than he is not very happy with us being in here again. Mark called to the man in an attempt to get some sort of response from him. After several attempts Jazz and Tracey say they both heard a mumbled gruff sound. This did not deter Mark from trying and continued to call out to the religious man. We spent a full half hour in the room before we gave up on him.

23:00hrs: We moved into the corridor where a figure was spotted moving into another room, so we followed it, trying again to get a response. Another full half hour was spent in the rooms and corridor in attempt to get something. Other than a few muffled sounds and some bangs, nothing else happened. So we moved back to the other corridor. Jazz and Steph positioned themselves outside room G. Tracey watched the entrance to the corridor for rooms H to K, Angie took up position to watch room C, whilst Mark entered room G alone, Closing the door to see if anything happened. Again this is a room believed to be very active, and during our last visit Marks team spent some time in there.

23:50hrs: Nothing was happening in any of the areas so we regrouped and made the decision to try the attic rooms again. So much had happened on our previous visit in here, it was worth trying it again. We spent a good forty minutes in the area, but nothing at all was heard or even picked up by anyone. It seemed things were very very quiet. So again we decided to move on and headed again for the Ballroom.

00:30hrs: Back into the Ballroom for one more attempt. Whilst in the room everyone felt as though we were being watched from all different angles, some said they felt again like they were being judged for some reason. We now know this room was once used as a court and it may have been this they were sensing. Angie became aware of a spirit in the room, a man dressed in black, who despite our attempts made no attempt to respond to us. He was in one corner of the room and when we approached it, he moved to another, so we would follow him. This continued for the full half hour and we soon become very tired of running around the room. Angie said he had left and it has to be said the room did feel lifted somehow.

01:00hrs: We went back upstairs for a recap of the night, and we were joined by the owner and a member of the bar staff. We spent a full hour discussing the nights events and how we felt the investigation had gone.

02:00hrs: We packed up and left.

FINAL THOUGHT: ALTHOUGH NOT MUCH SEEMED TO HAPPEN IN THE LATTER PARTS OF THE INVESTIGATION. IT DID PROVE SOMEWHAT FRUITFUL AND THE LOCATION IS DEFINATELY WORTH A VISIT.
