This investigation was arranged by Crystal Serenades and headed by Ghosts-uk. Abbey Ghost Hunters members Angie and Mark were invited along as associate members to Ghosts-uk website, this means that whilst we don't work for them, but as members we are given the privilege to go along to some of their investigations. This was our first one with them. Ghots-uk are the biggest paranormal investigation group in England and like to work with smaller ones like ourselves.
Pembroke Castle was built in 1071 by Roger Montgomery, the cousin of William The Conquerer, a British castle which withstood two attacks by the Welsh first in 1094 and again in 1096 before Henry I seized it in 1102 to claim as his own. Beneath the castle is The Wogans Cavern and is accessible still today via a stairwell, it was once a shelter for Cave Dwellers during the stone age. Pembroke Castle was also the birthplace to Henry VII. The castle up until this moment had never been investigated before, Unfortunately three areas of the castle were locked off from the investigation, one of which was Henry VII room, which is one room that has most reports regarding paranormal activity.
Team A. Angie and Mark (Abbey Ghost Hunters), Kelly (Crystal Serenades), T1 and T2 (invited by crystal serenades), Steve (parapsychologist to ghosts-uk) and two mediums based in Wales. Equipment used: two Sony nightshot handycams, E.M.F meter, Digital voice recorder, 2 Digital Cameras, 35mm Camera, Canum and N.I.D meter.
We arrived at 17:30pm and spent some time getting to know the others and chatting. At 18:15 Mark went for a walk around the castle with the E.M.F meter but got no readings, and also took some photographs and in one area we believe we may have caught something on one particular picture (click HERE to view). Septembers films were also present doing an interview with Ghosts-uk founder. The investigation finally started at 22:30 after all the safety aspects had been covered.
22:30 our team made its way to the chapel,
22:50 seance led by Steve during which Mark saw a dark outline of a figure in the corner, Angie felt a draft from above her head and T1 felt heat on her face, the E.M.F gave a reading of 2,
23:10 Medium could smell fresh baked bread and felt the group was being watched by a man 6ft in stature and Steve experienced lower back pain around the kidneys,
23:25 Team headed towards the Great Keep,
23:30 Medium gave the name William, Mark and Angie and the medium all felt a hotspot, Kelly ,thought she saw some steps in the corner of the room when we first entered and on second glance could not see any, on closer inspection it would appear stairs would have been there,
23:40 We went to the Main Hall, the Medium gave the names William Marshall and William Valance, both names were confirmed later and both were residents at the castle, Mediums left us to join the other team. As we went to another room near the Great Hall.
00:05 Steve sat on a window ledge and sensed he should be waiting on some news at the same time Angie picked up on the name Mary the E.M.F stayed at naught whilst the canum gave a reading of 8, Kelly felt as if something hit her on the head,
00:20 We made our way towards the Henry VII tower were we got interference on the mobile radios and static was picked up on the N I D,
00:30 As we entered Monkton Tower a strange feeling of sadness overcome Steve, Angie and Mark, T1 then felt coldness to her face and Kelly suffered back pain.
01:00 We entered the Wogan Cavern, on the way down the stairs a strange din heard by Steve, Angie and Kelly, once at the bottom of the stairs and everyone was stood still we could all hear footsteps,
01:55 We went back to the small room next to the Great Hall and again Angie heard the name Mary and felt as if someone brushed passed her,
02:10 Seance held by Steve and dowsing done by Angie but nothing happened,
03:05 We made our way to the Gatehouse Tower,
03:13 Small seance held led by Steve and all become aware of a strong musty smell, we set up trigger objects and a camcorder,
03:30 Kelly thought she saw something from the corner of her eye and T1 felt agitated,
03:40 Inspection of trigger objects one of which seems to have moved,
04:10 Steve left the castle ad both teams joined together,
04:30 We went back to the seating room
04:50 Table tilting experiment, table wobbled slightly
05:30 Investigation ended.
In conclusion the night was enjoyable and Pembroke would be a nice place to re visit, providing the other rooms were unlocked.
