Present from AGH were Angie, Mark, Sarah, Char and Wayne we were joined by Tony, Janice, Janet, Danny, Roy, Sue and another friend.
The Investigation
Midnight: We arrived at midnight and went into the lounge area to get the equipment ready, immediately Angie started sensing the presence of at least four spirits. One is a lady who wanders between rooms and is most active in the lounge and room above lounge, she describes her as shoulder length brown hair who was wearing a dress similar to that of Laura Ashley style. She sees a man with a dog, another Lady and one more Man but no information yet. Angie warns the landlord Tony there will be some serious electrical faults, Tony confirms he has seen the lady exactly as Angie describes her and he has had lots of electrical faults in the four weeks they have been there. Just then Angie looks through the bar to the main room and sees a man walking passed the pool table and senses things get moved there, again Tony confirms that a man has been witnessed there and it is a place of activity, and lots of things do get moved .
00:45am we moved to the main room (bar area) whilst Mark set up trigger objects by the pool table to see if any get moved, we placed a few balls on the table, a slateboard and chalk, whilst doing so Wayne sensed a man pass him, we had the EMF but got no readings, Wayne and Char took temp and EMF readings in the area Temp ranged between 23.5°c and 25.0°c and Sarah took photographs, Wayne started to feel dizzy and disorientated. Camera 2 was set up at 01:05am to record the pool table area. Then Char heard a woman cackling but couldn't make out were from. At 01:20 the battery on Cam 2 drained completely (this was an 8hour battery) whilst taking photos the batteries drained on the camera, but upon checking them on a battery meter they were fine.
01:20am Angie talks about seeing a large hole between the pub and building next to it, she senses a bombing and a crater, we are then told that during the war the house next to the pub was bombed, she also points to were Janice is sat and says she feels when people are sat there it is as though someone brushes passed them, we are told lots of people who have sat there have felt this and often turn quickly to see who has just brushed passed them. Wayne reports the temp has just dropped by 2.0°c by the pool table and 4.0°c were Janice is sat.
01:33am Angie talks about something missing from behind the bar, she then says a set of darts have gone missing, Angie says these particular ones had red and white stripes on the flights, Tony chuckles and says that is exactly right he has just threw away some red and white striped flights and replaced them with plain red ones. Angie sees a man near the pool table she describes him as looking like the father from the TV program Steptoe and Son, she hears him whistling a tune, it sounds like the national anthem, then she sees a lady with grey hair who is walking with a bandy leg, she feels arthritis, and this woman would have a perfume smell around her, she says this would be a strong smell.
01:50am Angie heard two men talking in the lounge area, Mark Wayne Char and Sarah went through to check, Both Mark and Char could hear this. Mark and Sarah took photos of the area to see if anything showed, a Dictaphone was placed in the area and both EMFs (2g and the sapphire see equipment's page)
02:00am Angie went into the cellar with Tony Janice and the other guests we joined them 5 minutes later, whilst in there Angie didn't sense anything, it was a large cellar so we spent a bit of time down there to have a good look in each of the rooms. Wayne had his first attempt of Psychometry (SEE PSYCHIC ABILITY PAGE) on a bugle that was in the cellar, he got a vision of a young male 15 - 16 yrs old in a blue uniform with a large blue hat with a yellow emblem on front, he also felt like an illness was placed upon him, he felt Pneumonia and had to leave the area as it made him feel very weak.
02:30am Back in the lounge and whilst everyone was stood talking Sarah and Tony both witnessed the EMF (sapphire) read 50mgs but no one else saw this. We stood in the lounge area to see if we could hear the voices again, we had also closed the doors between the bar and lounge to see if we could get any banging on the doors. We also placed beam barriers in there. Whilst we were stood there Sarah heard what sounded like music from directly above, Tony tells us the function room is directly above, at the exact same time Wayne and Char plus a guest all heard footsteps in the same direction. Just 3 minutes later and Mark could hear music from above but it sounded like it was being played on a gramophone, Angie asks is the floor behind the bar upstairs is weak as she can hear someone walking on it, this was confirmed.
3:06am We went upstairs to the function room, and as we entered the room some could hear a knocking noise, Angie says she is drawn to the toilet door by the bar and feels lots of loud bangs would be witnessed by people in this room, this was confirmed by the staff and has been witnessed on several occasions, Sarah who had no one stood by her turned quickly as she she could smell pipe tobacco to her side. As we stood in the room Angie saw a lady sat on a stool at the bar directly next to the ladies toilets, she describes her as wearing a very low cut top and blonde hair almost Doris Day looking, she also senses a man behind the bar in a white shirt and gets the name Ted, he is Irish, then she senses his surname is Flaherty and she feels it is his footsteps that are heard behind the bar, again she is drawn back to the Lady who seems to have a pink coloured cigarette ! It turns out these were known as cocktail cigarettes. Angie says that she feels if anyone slept in here they would soon become aware of her presence, this was confirmed as being true.
3:20am We stayed in the function room but now we asked if everyone would feel comfortable in complete darkness, Angie hears noises in the loft and something found ! Tony tells her a family friend went up there and found a book on a Yamaha motorbike, the exact same one and colours as Tony's, a few moments later Tony felt like a breath on the back of his neck and vacated the bar area, Mark went and stood in the area for the last 10 minutes to see if he could feel the same thing, unfortunately nothing happened, others in the room started to hear a noise what can only be explained as if someone was blowing into a bottle! and then we could hear what sounded like a door below us being banged very loudly.
3:37am We went downstairs to check the Lounge area, and discovered the EMF and Dictaphone we left there had drained completely (The EMF we left was the sapphire as this has a built in piezo speaker and Dictaphone near by to try and record any sounds that may come through the speaker), some could smell something unusual a horrible smell, Wayne describes it as rotten potatoes, suddenly everyone could hear what sounded like a giggle.
3:45am Mark stands in the area between the two doors were people have felt they have been pushed and were the door gets banged upon frequently, stood in the area for 5 minutes but felt nothing.
3:50am We decided to have a small break before setting up for table tipping in the main bar area.
4:00am A table tipping and glass divination session was set up in the main bar area, we started off by asking if anyone was present could they move the table (we ask the spirit questions, if the answer is yes they move the table / glass if the answer is no they leave the table / glass still, were you see yes that means the table / glass moved) Two staff and two friends take part.
Angie senses Mary has stepped back the four people at the table report the icy breeze they felt has lifted, and someone else has come forward a male.
Wayne senses two people called Henry and Fred they were Grandfather and Grandson. Wayne asks the questions.
05:00am We spent the next hour talking about the nights events and how everyone felt about the night in general.
06:00am we ended the night and packed things up and left.
Final thought: The Northway was a great place to hold an investigation, everyone experienced something unusual throughout the night, the most impressive for me was to hear the two man talking! Well worth a second visit.
