We arrived at midnight
to start our investigation. Present from AGH where Mark, Angie, Jazz and Steph.
Again we where joined by landlords Claire and Chris Bell along with Ian.
We spent the first two hours discussing the latest goings on in the pub, as
much had been happening since our last visit. These needed addressing before
we could start any investigation. Luckily we were able to find rational explanations
for a lot of things.
02.00hrs. The investigation started. During our discussions with the
owners. One of the things that needed addressing, was that staff and customers
had been experiencing a very strange happening. Whilst we all took up different
positions. Jazz stood in the area to see if he could pick anything up. Whilst
he did Angie senses a man present, surname of Walker. She describes the man,
and much to Chriss surprise she describes perfectly a man he had seen
only a few days earlier in the cellar. Ian also says he has seen the man.
We where then drawn to where Jazz was stood as he says he is feeling strange
pains all over his body. He had to move away from the area as he felt weird
and a little fatigued. As he says that Angie catches a glimpse of a small boy,
stood in between Chris and Claire. She says the little boy has just told her,
he has placed a ball in the corner near to where the music system is set up.
No one had been near that area. So we knew she couldnt have known that,
if there really was a ball there. This was one of the things we had been discussing
at the beginning of the night. That Chris and Claire had been discovering small
bouncy balls all over the place. Mark and Claire went together to check, and
sure enough placed on the shelf directly in the corner, a small bouncy ball
was sat there.
02.46hrs. Although we had moved from the area Jazz had been stood in earlier.
Jazz complained he still felt a little strange. He says he also started to feel
angry and still does. As he explains to us how he is feeling. He starts to feel
even angrier, and explains, it is as if he wants to punch someone or in his
words, he wants to beat the living daylights out of someone. Strangely as he
tells us this, a few of the people present all start to get the same impression
of a man, who is best described as looking like an undertaker. Chris felt it
was a good idea to question the man, asking who he was and why he was there.
Angie looks at Chris and says, be careful you are vexing him. Chris continues
when Jazz hears Ill tell thee nowt. Angie then tells us, the
man is hiding something from us, something illegal. After a short while she
says it is drink. She says it is in demijohns, (a demijohn is another name for
a carboy. A glass or plastic vessel used in fermenting beverages such as wine,
mead, and beer), she says it also smells weird. He has been trying to hide illegal
brew.
03.00hrs. We moved to the pool table area. As several people had heard what
appeared to be someone walking around. Angie is drawn to one particular seat
as she feels a man is present, whi is accompanied by his two greyhounds. She
says he is called Stewie and is very small in height. Just then both Angie and
Ian say they can smell something burning, smells like clothes, they both say.
Mark looks at Ian and asks him who is stood beside him, as he catches a glimpse
of someone, but Ian is stood alone. Not sure who it was as it was only a quick
glimpse.
Things suddenly go quiet, until Angie sees a man she says is wearing what she
thought was a rugby top. Long sleeved with a collar, she says he is saying his
nickname is Roy of the Rovers. She then asks us who Roy of the Rovers is, so
we explained to her it was a cartoon character in a magazine. But it may have
been a football top, not a Rugby top, as they too once had collars on their
shirts. Mark turns quickly as he felt someone tap him on his head, as he did
both Angie and Claire say Roy has just passed Mark, Angie says he was placing
his metal tankard on the shelf, directly behind Marks head, and that is
why he felt someone tap his head, she then says he is walking towards Chris
and sits next to him. Funnily as we watch the seat depresses as if someone has
just sat down. Nothing more could be gained from this as Roy faded away.
04.00hrs. We where asked by Chris and Clair could they try table tipping
to see if they could bring Roy back through. So we set up in the area he had
been, using the table and seats where he had sat next to Chris. At the table
was, Chris, Claire, Ian, Jazz and Steph. The team tried several times to call
out to Roy and then Stewie. Although nothing seemed to be happening, Ian had
several times felt as though someone poking him in his arm, and on observing
him it appeared as though, his clothing was moving as if being prodded. They
tried some glass divination and again nothing happened. After a good half hour
had passed. Our attention was drawn to the other end of the bar, when we heard
a voice muttering and a clinking sound. We went to check it out but could find
nothing.
04.30hrs. Jazz and Chris spent some time standing in the spot we thought
the voice had come from, all they could feel was some anger but nothing else,
so Ian tried standing in the same spot but felt nothing, then Mark had a go,
he got an image of a German soldier, he says his helmet resembles that of a
first world war uniform, he says the man has a wounded face. Not sure why this
image came, but as he did Jazz comments Mark looks shell shocked! (Shell Shock
was a term used during the First World War to describe the psychological trauma
suffered by men serving on the war's key battlefronts). Angie goes a little
closer to Mark as he moves slightly to his left and starts to feel angry, as
Jazz and Chris had earlier, the team start to feel this is the man who we described
earlier as undertaker like, in his resemblance. After a few seconds Mark turns
to Angie and says Id move if I was you. Later he said he wanted to go
face to face and call her a bloody mystic. After that nothing else happened.
05.00hrs. The night came to an end.
FINAL THOUGHT: The night seemed somewhat strange, especially for Mark who
experienced a bit more than usual. The nights here have proved very interesting.
And the pub still does not want to give up its secrets.
