DEAN CLOUGH MILLS HALIFAX

HOMEPAGE / INVESTIGATIONS

We were asked by Ruggie Media the company behind Derek Acorahs Ghost Towns, if we would be happy to do an investigation for them and to appear on the show, it was Ghost Towns Live 2 in Halifax.

The show was to be shown over three nights, Friday 09/03/06, Saturday 10/03/06 and Sunday 11/03/06, the show was being broadcast on Living TV from the Viaduct Theatre inside Dean Clough mills. We were asked to go in on the Thursday to do our investigation, we did not before the Thursday have any knowledge of the location we would be investigating, in fact we had been under the impression it would be a hotel, instead we were asked to investigate the Theatre itself, where the audience would be sat for the next three days and the dressing rooms.

It is important that at this point we make you all aware, that here at Abbey Ghost Hunters we have always believed that TV shows such as Ghost Towns and Most Haunted, are purely entertainment only, and would not show a real investigation, unless people faint, get possessed or chase orbs. It is not good enough for TV, by agreeing to go along it would either A) prove us right and not show our footage or B) show our footage and prove us wrong. For those of you who watched the show, we done our investigation, without any falseness or faking, on the Friday we sat in the audience supposedly to give an interview (time permitting) and some of our footage should have been shown, but it wasn't, we did not get to do an interview either, at the end of the night the producer come to us to make his apologies for not showing the footage or allowing us to do an interview, they had simply run out of time, well OK it is a live TV show, so lets give them the benefit of doubt, there may still be time on Saturday or Sunday night to show some of the footage, in fact we were then told we had been placed on first reserve, meaning if at all something went wrong or they had some spare time they would then turn to our footage to fill the gap.

Saturday night came along, and the show went on, it come to Derek's Doorstep Divination ( this entails carrying out LIVE one-on-one personal psychic readings in his 'Doorstep Divination'. Using his psychic abilities to guide him He will choose a house to visit and give the lucky homeowner a reading, for Derek to visit your house, all you have to do is visit the Living TV website and download and print out the poster of Derek and put it in your window, so that Derek's face is clearly visible from the outside of your house ). Unfortunately they turned up at the house and the owners failed to open their door, so surely they will be now showing our footage, a genuine investigation with no acting surely we will have to eat humble pie now, NO we won't as they didn't show it, instead they repeated some footage of Derek from the investigation he had just done before the Doorstep Divination.

It is now over to you to contemplate why it wasn't shown, we obviously have our point of view and stand firm with our original beliefs, if you don't act or entertain you will not be shown on TV. We have not as yet heard anything else from the media organisation as to why it wasn't shown.. We at Abbey Ghost Hunters still believe that respecting SPIRIT is more important than FAME..

For those of you who have continued to read and look forward to reading the report of our investigation, we would first like to show there are no sour grapes and take this opportunity to thank the researcher of the show Hassan for contacting us and giving us this opportunity, we would also like to thank the two security staff Ian and Rhiannan who stayed with us on the Thursday night, and to all the other staff who treated us nice on the Friday.

THE INVESTIGATION.

The report is somewhat scarce this is due that all the notes and footage was handed in and we do not have a copy.

Present from AGH were Angie, Mark, Tracey and Wayne.

We arrived at 8:20pm and met with the researcher and producer, who took us into a room for a brief chat, Angie immediately sensed a man near to the room were we were, we were then taken into the Viaduct Theatre and introduced to Andy, who explained what areas were safe or unsafe for us to be in,

At about 9:20pm we started our investigation moving firstly into the dressing rooms to set up a trigger object in one of the rooms. We then set up beam barriers at the door to this dressing room and the next one.

At 9:25pm we were in the other dressing room, and Wayne Angie and Tracey all sensed a young girl, who gave her name as Abigail, she had once worked in the mill, Wayne felt she seemed very upset and distressed. he could see her energy swirling around the room and could hear her crying. Asking for more information on the little girl he was given an image of her and the name Abigail was given. She was about 8-10 years old with fair hair tied up on the top of her head with something but could not tell what ( not ribbon). She then showed him that she was trying to hide from us and seemed scared to be seen. It was then he became emotional due to the energies of Abigail and had to leave the atmosphere as he was feeling all the emotions from her..
We stayed for a while to see what if any information we could get from the spirit child, it appeared she had had some sort of accident whilst working in the mill.

At 9:50pm We went to an area known as the Victorian street, this is an area between the Theatre and the Cafe, (it's a cobbled road were the audience would have entered to go into the Theatre) whilst there all of the team except Mark had been sensing someone that comes into the atmosphere there, the spirit wasn't with us, but they had all sensed something had been witnessed here. After a short period Wayne was made aware that there was a murder here in the past....but this had been passed of as an accident at the time by the authorities. It involved two men embroiled in an affair, either a business or a love affair. On later thought it seemed to point more to a business affair than any other kind.
One of the men had gone out on horse and cart to look for the other in the frame of mind to cause him harm. As the man with the horse and cart came down the street he saw the other man coming out of a building and crossing in front of him so he snapped and charged at him. The horse reared up and the man was struck side on and knocked to the ground, he died instantly of a massive blow to the head caused by his head hitting the cobbles. The authorities claimed it was an accident and no further action was taken as they had no idea of the feud between the two men. Date given 1885-1890.

10:30pm We reentered the dressing rooms area, one strange thing that happened was when Wayne walked straight through the beam barriers without setting them off, this was witnessed by Angie and a member of the security staff, Angie then walked through them as a test and they set off.

At 10:50pm We went back to the smaller dressing room to hold a seance, we tried some glass divination and some response but not a great deal, we then tried table tipping, which seemed more responsive, we did however get the names of Thomas sensed by Tracey, and a William and Rose by Angie, whilst in this area we all had started to feel lethargic, and using common sense, we left the area to replenish our energies, maybe had we stayed here and all started to faint we may have got some footage shown! We did re enter but nothing really happened after that.

Whilst walking through the Theatre Angie again sensed a man who was in this area, called John, who wandered in and out of the area, although he seemed more in the area were the seating platform was erected, interestingly, on Friday when we were in the audience before the show, someone was talking about an investigation they done there and they had seen a man in that area called John! who walked were the seats were..

At about 12:20 we started to pack away the equipment as we had to leave the area by half past twelve.

In Conclusion. We did feel that the area was often visited by a few spirits, but more time was needed to get a better response, it does go to show though that just because a place is reputed to be active, it is not all the time..
