Danby Castle is believed to have been built in the 11th century on high ground at Castleton by the de Brus family who also built Skelton Castle. Stone from the first Danby Castle was used at the beginning of the 14th Century to construct the present palatial castle. It was unusual in having a projecting tower in each corner. Present from AGH where, Mark, Angie, Tracey and Jazz.

10:00pm We arrived at the Castle and made our way to one the of the two rooms that is still roofed and is known as the jury room, this is because the other room next to it, is a court room. Not their original use but today the two rooms are used by the Danby Court Leet. We unloaded our equipment into the Court room.

10:15pm We started off setting up sensor lights around the castle, this was because of our visit and the fact we felt we had seen figures move around.

11:00pm Whilst walking around Mark and Jazz both saw a figure move from North East Tower towards the kitchen area, we followed the figure and as we entered the next room we both felt very light headed, we looked across the large room we had originally thought was the great hall but may actually be the kitchen, we saw a man standing in the doorway leading to the North West Tower, The figure disappeared so we checked the area an could not see anything, we put another sensor light in the doorway and waited for a bit, after several minutes we saw the figure again and the motion sensor light came on, we went into the room to look around again making sure no one was about, but still there was no one there, leaving us unable to account for who or what it was. Despite taking several photos nothing has shown up on any of them as did no figure on the tape in the camcorder. Meanwhile Angie and Tracey who where still in the North East Tower area had been sensing the presence of Elizabeth and Mary, but didn't get any communication at this time. They then joined us and as they did Angie senses a man in the doorway we had seen the figure standing Angie tells us it is Henry, she says he is stood there so I Mark went over and stood in the doorway, as I did I felt light headed again and Jazz had come over near to the doorway and he too complained of the light headedness. Angie then says the man has moved away from Mark and passed Jazz, as this happens Angie, Tracey and Jazz all heard a mans voice although they were unable to hear what he said, I did not hear it myself. We stood for a while to see if anyone could see or hear anything else and after a period of 5 minutes both Angie and Tracey say they could see the man once again moving up a staircase that is no longer there, I went to see if there was any signs a staircase would have been there, but it was too dark to make out any markings in the wall, although looking at a plan of the building since shows a staircase in the exact location they both say the saw them. For the next ten minutes nothing happened so we went for a break.

MIDNIGHT: Before we Stopped for a tea break and to reflect on events so far. We checked the window we had seen a figure moving in on our last visit to see if the same thing happened, but nothing we waited for fifteen minutes, then went for a break.

12:30am We went to the jury room and set up the camcorders for a seance, we all sat in a circle with the lights dimmed, Angie felt a William present she felt he had fallen from a horse and he now walks with a stick, Angie asks him to knock on the floor with his stick, she asks a couple of times, we did hear faint tapping sounds, but these could have been anything and were not conclusive enough for us. Tracey and Jazz had been feeling some pains in their arms and heads but nothing else happened during our time in here tonight. We spent an half hour in the room before we decided to try elsewhere.

01:00am We moved into the Court Room and whilst we were about to try some glass divination we all seen a shadow move from the door from the Jury room across the room to the exit door, we followed it but could not see anything after it had gone through the doorway. It was a quarter past one when we sat for the Glass Divination we asked some questions as Angie had sensed the Margaret, we asked some questions to clarify what we had got on the last investigation, but this lasted only ten minutes before she backed off, we sat to see if anyone else would come through when Angie said someone had rushed passed us were we was sat, and was heading to the jury room, then 3 of the motion sensor lights went off one at a time and in order you would expect if someone had walked that way towards the jury room. We quickly followed the direction but once again nothing could be seen, the only difference this time was no one actually saw a figure or shadow, But Angie and Tracey say they felt the person brush passed them.

01:45am We stopped for a break.

02:00am We decided to call it a night as we felt that we had so far experienced enough once again and due to the weather conditions we were unable to continue any further outside.

FINAL THOUGHT: Once again Danby Castle proved very interesting and I had again seen more here than at any other location we have visited previously. It is my belief the Castle needs further looking into.
