We arrived at 9pm and started by setting up camcorders in the long hallway on the first floor along with beam barriers, the team were shown around by Mike the curator of the museum, and set up a set of beam barriers in the doorway of the blue room as they all felt as though someone would pass through here, they entered the green room and set up a number of trigger objects, they used large playing cards and some wooden dice, Angie felt this room was very active and possible we would get Audible sound so we set up a voice recorder too as you can see in the pictures to the right. There is also a small room known as the old kitchen which has a display closed off were the original floor has been uncovered so the team set up some cards in that area too. Angie was stood outside and said she could see some steps in the water that led under the building, the building backs on to the harbourside.
As she had a look around the building she turned to Mike (The Curator) and said she could sense someone in the building called Mary, she was responsible for the day to day running of the building and was important and respected more than would be expected, Mike says it is Mary Prowd who was housekeeper here at one time and was well respected, before Capt. Cook was a Captain she would often give him a hug and upon his return as a Captain she greeted him the same way she always had, despite being warned not too, Mary was housekeeper to Capt. John Walker and he had left here £6 a year in his will, a very neat and tidy sum of the day.
As we started we stood in the big hall were Angie, Alan and Chris B could all feel some strange sensations in one spot, we took some readings to see if we could find anything but nothing, Then Alan said he could hear a cat but no one else did, Mike turned to Alan and said exactly were you are stood the skeleton of a cat was dug up!

Midnight: As we entered the Green Room at the front of the building Chris B felt as though he wanted to play with a ball by bouncing it, as he turned around to face back towards the door he could see two shadows, his own and one smaller than himself, the size of a child, Claire looked at the same time and said she could see a shadow of a small hand move across the wall. We all looked but no one else could see it.
As we stood in the room (this is the room we had set up a number of trigger objects in) and tried to establish some sense of feelings Chris B felt as if an hand placed itself upon his right shoulder he could also sense some kind of tingling down his right arm. Although we could not see anything there was a cold spot directly behind his shoulder, at the same time Jazz who was stood about six feet away could smell fish and despite two others being stood either side of him no one else could. As Jazz says he can no longer smell the fish Chris B says the tingling and the hand have gone.
Angie who is stood in the corner near a mannequin says she can sense a small child, it's a little girl she has a white bonnet on and a dark coloured dress almost pinafore like, Angie says there are two hot spots in the room one were she is stood the other directly behind Chris B, Angie turns and says there is also a man present who is stood near the mannequin neither spirit are threatening in any way and both seem happy but unwilling to communicate. Just then Angie looks back at the door and says Mary is here she has come in and is observing us, looking at us all one by one. Mary then leaves and goes into the room next door (the Blue Room). As she does Angie asks Mike (The Curator) what the connection to the hospital is, Mike tells us the Blue Room was once used as a Drs. Surgery, Angie says but the hospital was next door yes, Mike says it was and it was a children's hospital.
Angie asks can she go to the cellar for a moment, as it is only small Angie went with Mike and Chris B and Alan on camcorders. In the cellar Angie is shown some steps that may be connected to the ones she had talked about outside earlier on, a discussion took place about what it might have been used for possibly smuggling at one time, it appeared as though the steps could lead to some kind of tunnel that went under the building to the rear were the water is, that way stuff could be unloaded straight off the boat and into the building, Angie felt that furniture was once brought into the building this way too.
Back upstairs in the Green Room Mark suddenly smelt fish and Tracey was touched on her hand, it only lasted for a split second, the team rejoined us from the cellar and both Alan and Chris S could smell some kind of perfume but were unsure what it was, Tracey turns and says Isabelle and then both Tracey and Chris B say at the same time Jessica, they feel is the little girl in the room and the name Isabelle may be connected to her, they feel she is aged between 8 and 10 years and she is the daughter of a man who sailed. Chris B starts to whistle and Angie says Mary will not like it, (we are told that one of the cleaners would often listen to his walkman whistling away, and has turned several times to see Mary walking away).
Angie, Mark and Mike left the Green Room to enter the Blue Room whilst the rest of the team remained were they were to try and get some form of communication going with the little girl. Chris B then says Guisborough (a town about 20 miles away) and the surname Buchannan. Alan says Prior but not sure if its a name or not.
Then Tracey senses a young boy with blonde hair shoulder length, wearing a peak cap he looks very smart and is from a well to do family, possibly connected to Jessica but is not sure she feels his name is Matthew, so the group asked for some kind of sound to be made, they asked a few times and although a small tap was heard it was faint and could simply have been anything, sadly nothing else happened in there. The group left the room and closed the door as there was trigger objects in there.
In the Blue room Angie was talking to Mike and Mark about Mary Prowd the housekeeper , also in this room Angie could see a group of women sitting around and reading, she says the room was also used as an office as she can see paperwork, lots of it. (Mike tells us this room was the office where all the paperwork was done when the coal ships sailed from Whitby).
At 01:25 am we went to the Attic (this was the room Capt. Cook would have stayed in as an apprentice), Angie senses a young boy she gets no name and feels he was a servant, and simply known as Boy to everyone due to his young age, Angie feels he was Residual (An apparition that may appear in front of you sometimes full bodied or just half a body, they seem to have no awareness of our presence, passing through walls or doors, it simply is that they are going about their business as if they were still alive, there is no interaction with them, simply a projection or video recording or an imprint left on the building that has absorbed the psychic energy and these impressions are then broadcast back to us like a video) so was unable to communicate with him for any further information. Photo Right some of the team in the attic.
The group decided they would like to try some Scrying with Chris B opting to go first. Chris B sat on a chair in front of a tall mirror clearing his mind and focusing on the mirror.
After a while Chris B could see a man long hair dark and in a pony tail, high side parting like a crown parting, bushy eyebrows again dark, very dark sunken eyes and a full beard, the beard is is also bushy and he has dark olive skin, roughly mid 50's has a white shirt and dark coloured coat with what appears to be brass buttons, the eyes are set close together and he has a long and pointy nose, with a roundish face and round chin, the hair also comes down over the ears, he feels the man is full of anger and looks down on people, a very serious character, something to do with boats but sails on them. After a bit longer he says excise man as he gets the words Kings Money pop into his head, he also feels there is something wrong with his leg not sure yet what it is. By this time Angie was now stood in the corner as she had seen a figure in the corner of the room to the left of Chris B, she had gone to see if she could get anything else but nothing, then Jazz had gone into the position as Angie come and stood near to Chris B and Mark who was asking him questions. Chris B then says “I wonder if he lost his leg” and Chris B, Jazz and Angie all heard a mans voice say “no” other members of the team all heard something but were unable to make it out, except Mark who was stood in the middle of all three and did not hear a thing. Chris B then says Dartmouth and he is from there, he also feels the name Mr. Samuels, Mark asks what his first name is but is told just Mr.
After a period of time Chris B comes away and Jazz has a turn at scrying, Chris B and Alan now stand were Angie and Jazz had stood earlier.

02:10 am. Jazz scrying, after a short period Jazz could see an image appear he describes the man as having a pony tail with Receding hairline connected to the ships after a pause he says Bosuns mate, the image becomes very blurred and starts to fade in and out making it hard to concentrate on. Then a second image appears an older man with grey hair and white bushy eyebrows and wrinkled face, Jazz says this man is not from Yorkshire but from Portsmouth, suddenly the head disappears but the body remains. It becomes impossible to say here what happens next as despite having a camcorder and tape recorder with microphone pointing at Jazz all sound disappears and does not return until he has finished Scrying and stands up.

02:40 am We stopped for a break

03:15 am We resumed the investigation on the 2nd floor below the Attic. Angie said she could see Mary once again leave the room we had gone in and head towards the stairs leading to the attic, she says she is just going about her daily routine as normal, she was so well respected by everyone she says, she was not bad and she sometimes shows herself in this area, she feels she keeps an eye on the cleaners to make sure they do a good job wiping away all the dust, but she does not like it when the cleaner whistles, (Angie had mentioned this earlier to Chris B who was whistling downstairs, Mike was able to clear it up for us about when the cleaner is there whistling to his music he often turns to catch a glimpse of old Mary).
Angie then says below us on the next level is another a lady she is Elizabeth she is important she walks the corridor and people have mistaken her for Mary but she isn't, she wanders were Mark has placed a camcorder on the tripod, she likes to wander down the passageway to the back of the building, again Mike said people have seen a figure go down there. Angie turns to Chris B and says who was still whistling that Mary really does not like it, but he cannot help it as he has an urge to just whistle, strangely he doesn't even know the tune! (Mike again turns to us and says the tune is very similar to that the cleaner whistle when on duty).
Angie had now picked up on several names and went to the office with Mike to see him about them, the idea of this was we didn't want the rest of the team to hear the names and was hoping they might start to pick up on them too. Right Photos of the stairs Mary has been seen on.

04:00 am We moved down a level to the first floor, as we entered Allan could smell a perfume type smell but couldn't make out what it was Chris S could also smell it, but again unsure of the fragrance, as Angie enters the room she smiles and says Mary enters here aswell although she doesn't enter here as much. The smell was strongest by a cupboard in the corner and although we got no readings on the EMF meter we were getting strange erratic static interference through the EMF, we checked inside the cupboard to see if any electrics were there or anything else we that may cause it but nothing, we did notice however that over the 45 minute period we stayed in there it continued suggesting that something natural was causing the interference.
Angie had already told me after her walkabout that she had smelt talcum powder on this level, However we were told by Mike that staff have often smelt talcum powder in this room and always by the cupboard, the cupboard was originally called the powder room were wigs were kept and powdered with Talc.
Also on this level was the long corridor that Angie had mentioned Elizabeth had been seen, Elizabeth again was a name Angie sensed very strongly (this Elizabeth was Elizabeth Walker) and one of the names she discussed with Mike in the office along with the names John Walker and Henry (John Walker and his brother Henry were Quaker shipowners engaged in the coal trade between the North-East and London. The Quakers, or Society of Friends) she said they dressed like Quakers, also the name William (there are records of two Williams, first there is William Heselton and William Mellanby who were both aboard The Mary) The last name was that of Helen again she is connected to the Walker family and is daughter of John Walker. Near the passageway is a balcony overlooking the Old Kitchen were some trigger objects had been placed, we went there to have a look down and noticed one of the cards had moved, it is possible it was caused by a breeze although another card was in a more prominent position to be moved by any breeze flowing through the two doors as it was in line with them, unlike the one that had moved.

05:00 am We entered the Blue Room, We decided to try some dowsing using rods, Steph had a go as she has never done it before, Angie said she could see ledgers and again says this was an office (Mike confirms this room was the office for the shipping of the coal boats owned by the Walker family and the desk in here is the original one used back then) Mike tells the rest of us of the names Angie had come up with earlier in the office and who they were and what their connections were. Angie starts to talk about the ladies in here who sat reading and discussing other locals business, as Angie says each thing Steph tells her the rods are responding by moving, they had also reacted to the bit about the ledgers. We continued for a short while in the room but sadly not much more happened so we decided to call it a night.

FINAL THOUGHT: Not much happened through the night but we were able to come up with what reports have been given by members of staff of occurrences there, overall it was still a much interesting place to hold an investigation and possibly a location to return too at a later date.
