I have been asked a few times now what my opinion is of NDE's, well like most things Paranormal related if I haven't experienced it, then I remain open minded, as I do believe anything is possible but not everything is probable, anyway please have a read, enjoy and Oh look at the footnote!
What are Near Death Experiences or NDEs as they are known for short.
The belief is that as we are nearing
our death a vision comes to us, a vision of a loved one or even a friend who
have already passed over and that they are here to help us make that transition.
They have been more commonly known as the Death Bed Vision.
There have been reports of a second type of NDE, people who have been dying
travel off to other worlds and then come back to tell us about their visit.
There have been many reports of NDEs for hundreds of years, and they have been experienced by many different cultures and Religion doesn't discriminate either in these experiences.
There are many people who have come close to death and have had an NDE, but for some reason have not been ready to leave life just yet, and partners of someone who whilst at the point of dying they witnessed strange things or heard their loved one talking aloud even calling out a deceased relatives name, and engaging in conversation with them.
One strong belief is that it is just psychological, Sceptically you can argue that when we die that is it, the brain dies too!. But the question is does our mind, or does our mind leave the body along with or as part of the soul. The spirit is believed to leave the body as we take our last and final breath,
People who believe they are able
to communicate with Spirits are Mediums or Psychics, their testimonies are that
they are able to communicate with the Spirit as if they were talking to someone
who is still alive.
If we are to believe this then the Spirits who do come back to visit us to communicate
can so because they still have their mind, and the ability to think.
Just recently I came across a report
by Professor Peter Fenwick, who has been studying NDEs he believes it may be
possible that the mind and brain are two separate things. Which supports what
many people have already believed to be the case, his study could also support
the claims of Mediums / Psychics that Spirits do have the ability to communicate
with them as they have a conscious mind.
It certainly backs up the claims of life after death.
FINAL THOUGHT: I'm certainly no expert on this subject, there are many books as well as many websites with an in depth look at NDEs, along with many testimonies from people who claim to have had them. For me well personally I have to add that I have stopped breathing twice during my life and do not have any recollections of anything like this!
